SBYH ANNUAL AWARDS

THE PIERCE NORTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to a Mite (8U) or Squirt (10U) who has a passion for the game of hockey, is liked by all and isn’t afraid to tell the truth. The recipient combines his/her hockey talent with unselfish zest for the game.

THE SCOTT COLLINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to a Peewee (12U) or Bantam (14U) who love the game of hockey and is known as a fun-loving teammate, positive influence and enthusiastic locker room presence.  The recipient's favorite place to be is the rink and his/her infectious personality is felt by all.

THE SOUTHIE MEN’S LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to the Midget (18U, 16U) who exhibits strong leadership qualities and is committed, dedicated and loyal to his team.  The recipient always represents himself, his team and SBYH admirably and he is well respected by his teammates, coaches and others.

THE SOUTHIE DAD'S TEAM SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to the player who shows unselfish leadership and their teammates look up to them. They stick up for what is right on the ice and in the locker room. They don't seek individual glory and do whatever it takes to help their team win.

THE JOHN CUNNIFF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Presented to an individual who best exemplifies John’s love of hockey through their service and support of South Boston Youth Hockey. John’s passion for playing, teaching and promoting the sport are carried on and personified in these recipients.

THE TEDDY CUNNIFF COACHES AWARD

Presented to an coach who best exemplifies Teddy’s love of teaching and helping the kids of South Boston Youth Hockey. This coach spends countless hours at the rink and goes above and beyond for the team and program.
